Christine knows just what to say to elicit results in each singer.

Christine lead a workshop and masterclass for our Teen Vocal Studio. Christine shared extensive resources for our young performers relating to not only rules for singing in German, but also questions to consider when making dramatic choices for a song.
She has incredible instincts working with young voices and knows just what to say to elicit results in each singer. This was an incredibly fruitful experience for our teens.

Approach and Methods

Receive a comprehensive training and become a well- rounded singer and person.

A well- rounded, expressive singer knows how to use the voice to create the desired sound and is able to tell interesting stories. Besides teaching singing in different genres and styles, CMVL helps singers to improve their musicianship, repertoire knowledge, acting, performances and diction. But the training does not stop there. Training the voice means also training body and mind and working on your personality. Mindfulness and awareness play a big role in managing the demands of performing in shows and competitions.

Benefit from a consecutive, personalized curriculum based on up-to-date voice science and pedagogy.

Together we analyze what works and what limits your vocal production and performance. We create a personalized learning plan which will evolve the more your voice develops. This is no cookie-cutter approach. Everything we do in the studio is created to help you reaching your goals.

Thrive in a supporting and friendly environment.

Studying voice is an ongoing, fascinating discovery process. Besides times of quick progress and excitement, challenges will be faced and limitations need to be overcome.I give my students encouraging and honest feedback that enables them to grow. I cheer my students on, but I don't lie if something does not work. I acknowledge how brave my students are to work on themselves, their dreams and to get out of their comfort zone. That's courage, and it's rewarding and satisfying.

Let's get to know each other!

Who are you?

Singing makes you really happy. There is all this beautiful music you want to sing. You feel energized and radiant when the voice works well. You might think about performing and auditioning in the future. You are confident that you can make it. Life is fun!

But then there are those days when you feel your voice sounds thin, shaky or even out of tune and you have no idea what you have been doing differently than on other days. You try really hard to sing those high notes that worked beautifully yesterday but today the throat feels tight.

You want to know what vocal exercises really help to improve your voice, so you are not wasting hours on youtube watching singing videos without getting feedback if you sing correctly.

You'd love to have a teacher who is supporting and believing in you, a mentor who knows how to make you sounding great and who is an interesting and fun person to be with.

Who am I?

I know…  When you love to sing but your voice is not doing what you want, frustration and self-doubt can build up quickly. I have been there and I am glad, this time is over.

Singing and teaching are very dear to my heart. 20 years ago, I started teaching voice lessons, because I wanted to empower singers like you to make their wish come true, giving them the knowledge they need to improve their voices. I love to see and hear the improvements in my students. It makes my day. It is fascinating how the voice can grow. You don't need to have great talent.

I got my professional training in Germany where I graduated with a double master's degree in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy. This was three years after I finished my master's in Music Education and German Education.

I performed in concerts, bands, operetta, musical and opera productions that helped me to gain the experiences that I share with my students today. Are you incredibly nervous before a show? It is safe to say so. I have been there many times. But this won't stop us, would it?

Besides helping my private students to overcome stage fright and to develop their voices online and in my studio in Boston/Somerville, I train singers who love to sing in German. Some of them love German Art Song and some of them are preparing to audition for theaters and agencies in Germany. Check out the German Vocal Arts Institute (GVAI) that I founded 2016 in Seattle, WA. Now we are in Boston/Somerville, because I fell in love with this beautiful city when I came here to teach a masterclass at the classical singer convention at the Sheraton Boston in 2018.

Some of my teaching highlights include masterclasses at the Semper Opera in Germany, GVAI's summer programs 2016 - 2018 in Seattle, WA, masterclasses at music conservatories in China 2016, the CS Music Convention in Chicago 2017 and Boston 2018, at the University of Washington, at the Seattle Opera Teen Vocal Studio, my work as music director for the Seattle Opera Teen Summer Camp in 2019 and voice workshops for Harvard's Crimson's Toastmaster Club 2020.

I love to learn and attend many continuing education opportunities for voice teachers to give my students the best vocal training. In summer 2020, I successfully completed the Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute of Shenandoah Conservatory.

I believe singing makes people happy, courageous, balanced and it creates a great community that makes the world a better place.
But now, let's come back to your singing dream. Let's build a team.

"We are stronger together than we are alone”.
